Water injection is currently the primary method for most oilfields to achieve stable and increased production. However, due to the complex composition of oilfield wastewater, which contains varying degrees of dissolved corrosive media such as H2S, CO2, O2, Cl-, and mineral salts, re-injection can easily lead to equipment and pipeline corrosion, impacting oilfield production. This oilfield produced water corrosion inhibitor is a highly efficient water injection corrosion inhibitor composed primarily of a strongly polar imidazoline qua-ternary ammonium salt, along with alcohols, penetrant, and surfactant.
